there have been a couple of responses now to take on the forum - so don't panic and keep on posting - looks like it will be here for a while yet.

Just a quick update to let you know the latest. Weatheredman is looking into the feasibility of transferring this forum to his existing website. If everything goes according to plan the forum will have a new home from mid-June - so I hope you continue to give it your support.

The aroundampthill.org website will then disappear for a short time and be relaunched on a completely new project (if the tech goes to plan) and will be providing free smart phone apps for local walks and probably a few other things as well. I'll post on the forum when it's ready to go sometime in the late summer on the current project plan. :D But needless to say a couple of holidays may set that date back :Be

First of all - thanks to everyone who has supported this forum over the 6 or 7 years it's been in existence - and thanks to Mike when he took it over for a couple of years. But unfortunately my time for running it comes to an end in mid June and I won't be renewing it. I think I have reached a stage in my life when I want to be doing different things and social media has also changed, so I'm no longer sure about the need for forums. But bottom line is this forum will close on or about June 18.

However, if anyone wants to take over the running of it, I'm happy to assist with the handover - but you will need a bit of IT experience and it does cost a bit (over £100 p.a.) and quite a lot of time. PM me if you're interested.

Again - thanks for your support - it wouldn't have been possible without you lot.

If the dosh is a worry to a potential administrator then could we have a subscription set up to meet the expenses?

Really, really pleased that the forum will continue!!!
Was still reading the Daily Mail online to make sure I've not yet become a grumpy old man.
Then one day, I found I was screaming at the screen.
Now banned from a coffee shop :-)

Would be happy to help in this respect if there is a problem with finances.
So glad to hear that Weatheredman is going to take the mantle on.
