St George's Day Festival Wrest Park

Postby Sveti » Sat Apr 20, 2013 5:37 pm

Went up there today for the excellent St George's Day Festival - it's on tomorrow too.

The lovely weather brought many people out. There's lots to see and do, including a really good falconry display.

Brilliant day! :D

I thought St George's Day was on the 23rd of April?
We are running a special event at my Club on Tuesday to celebrate St G's Day raising money for Charity. I suppose you could say we are "flying the flag" :AA

certainly a good day for it. Now that they charge for EH members it is not the same :) I remember when it first started - Mid Beds were the driving force, and the Country Markets used to have a huge stall there in the Orangery. Times change and we don't have nearly the same amount of members and the rent is quite a lot now.

Yes, St George's Day is on Tuesday 23rd, but such a big event at Wrest they could only do it successfully over the weekend.

There was a substantial discount on the price for EH members, and I have been to quite a few events the past year where I haven't had to pay atall. Felt yesterday was worth every penny!

There was a good bar in the Orangery................. :Be
