co-op Maulden

I have heard that it may change into an independent corner shop next year? Anyone able to confirm that this is definite, I use the shop a lot and would be disappointed if it changed.

That would definitely be a backwards step. Strange, I thought Co-Op was on the up?

Prices at the co-op always seem more competitive (closer to supermarket prices) than the usual corner store rip off merchants.

my thoughts too, not sure it is the co-ops decision - it is the owner of the building, apparently they used to run a shop from there years ago, way before my time I think.

I have heard that is is due to close the end of the month and then reopen 3 weeks later as a budgens and that the Co-op have secured the Clophill shop.

Budgens operate as a franchise, we have been to the one at Wixhams recently and was more expensive than the co-op.

Shame will miss the co-op
