The Hairdressers at the top of Baker Street was a Co-op many years ago.
I wondered why the Co-op opted out of the shop in Maulden some time ago. It seemed to do good trade.
There was always a lot of people in the shop when I called in. Many cars always coming and going outside.
With the parking situation in Ampthill as it is currently, I am not sure whether there would be viable premises for a Co-op.
We lost quite a lot of shopping space when the Housing Association was allowed to turn the supermarket on Dunstable Street into offices.
That at least did have good parking facillities.

I miss the co op, I prefer it to Budgens, can't deny the Budgens in Maulden is nice and bright etc, but just prefer the products (and also prices) of the co op.
