Any Doctor Who fans out there?

Did you see the start of the new series last night...? What did you think?

I wouldn't describe myself as a fan of Doctor Who, I'm not obsessive about it like I am 'The West Wing', but I really enjoyed the last series - Christopher Eccleston was awesome. Yesterday's episode was ok as a season opener. I think David Tennant is a good choice in the role once we get used to how he plays it.

Dalek's are seriously scary whether they are in black and white or colour!

Sarah Jane (from the Jon Pertwee era) is in one of the upcoming episodes. I'm too young to remember her  , but I do remember her co-star K9

I haven't watched it for years, but I did see last night's episode. It didn't strike me as a kids programme at all (or am I just a bit out of date here?) - more like a commentary on the use of animals in test labs meets one of those 'living dead' horror films. Was the flat entity (Cassandra?) some sort of outcome of extreme plastic surgery?

I guess I'll have to watch it next week. It's certainly changed since the days of Jon Pertwee.

I don't remember ever hiding behind the sofa with Doctor Who - but that was in the days of William Hartnell. Quatermass - now bits of that might have been viewed through partially covered eyes :)

Excellent site. Trouble is, I found myself reading the entire script in the voice of bluebottle!

Aaahh - Bluebottle - My favourite character.

Completely different subject (apart from the Peter Sellers link) - but what do you think of the new re-make of the Pink Panther (Steve Martin(?) as Clousseau ) - sacrilege I think.

where's the grumpy old man icon? :ch

Charlie's using it as his avatar :D

Haven't seen it, really don't want to see the film. Why even try to mess with brilliance?

They should concentrate of writing some new good films instead of rehashing old stuff.

A fellow fan, I see! Seeing wotcha's link to the scripts has kindled a desire to listen to some of them again. Must be out there somewhere on the internet, or on CD... I shall have to have a look around.

I haven't seen the new Pink Panther - and I don't think I want to!

And they say TV today is weird....

'Weird' firefly? What are you suggesting ? :)

Perhaps my brain was addled in my youth through exposure to The Goons, Round The Horn, The Navy Lark and the like. Or perhaps it was the many late-night hours (without the knowledge of my parents) that I spent listening to radio Luxembourg on crackly old 'medium wave' (208m if I remember correctly). No CD quality sound back in those days...

Someone stop me, please. Reminiscence overload alert :!:
