Am told a bloke called Dave Thomas is behind it. Presumably not the former Burnley and England football star who was sold for a record £175,000 fee to QPR in £165,000

Drinking is the easy road to evil and damnation. Drink will pollute your body and soul. Give up the foul spirits and live a better life.

Hmm, thanks Herbert. But I think I'll just have another snifter before lunch!

All right, sneer, Madam Cow. But that is the typical attitude of someone with a (perhaps undiagnosed) drink problem. Although I do not live in Ampthill, I often visit to walk in the lovely park, worship at one of the churches or take tea in a little cafe (although not the awful Costa), and am invariably shocked by the number of inebriated men (and women) staggering out of the various public houses and bars at all hours of the day and using foul, blasphemous language. I am frequently put in mind of Hogarth's Gin Lane painting. You people should heed the Bible before it is too late. Praise be to the Lord.
