Have Charlie Wells not just parachuted in a relief manager until they find a new tenant?

I'm told the folk from the French Horn in Steppingley are taking the place over – and turning it into an upmarket burger joint!

Surely a contradiction in terms? Anyone who has ever visited Byron or Five Guys will be able to attest.

No. It was advertised as opening in August, but we're now half way through September and no sign of activity. At £70 a head for the tasting menu, I trust the service will be a little quicker once it does finally open up.

Took a gander today and there was a guy still working inside. Apparently, it's nearly ready but there have been a few teething problems. Tables and chairs laid out on an astro turf "garden" at the back looked rather inviting in the sunshine. Alas, by the time the place opens it might be a little cold to eat al fresco ..
